Project Overview​

The project involves integrating Mailchimp with the brand’s website to automate customer journeys for two specific scenarios: when customers download a freebie and when they sign up normally. The aim is to deliver a seamless experience where customers receive a PDF, a thank you note for the freebie download, and a welcome email for normal sign-ups. 

Additionally, integrating Mailchimp with Squarespace to ensure cohesive customer data management and streamlined marketing efforts.

Project Objectives

Mailchimp Integration with Squarespace:
-Integrating Mailchimp with Squarespace to capture sign-ups and downloads effectively and to ensure proper tracking and management of customer data.

Customer Journey Setup:
-Creating an automated journey in Mailchimp for customers downloading a freebie and setting up an automated welcome email series for normal sign-ups.

Content Delivery:
-Ensuring customers receive the PDF and thank you note immediately upon freebie download and developing a welcome email template for new subscribers.

Service Delivery

Initial Setup and Integration:

  • I connected Mailchimp with Squarespace to capture customer sign-ups and downloads and to unify customer data in different Mailchimp segments and tags using custom API keys.

Customer Journey Automation:

  • I redesigned the website sign-up form to fit the project objective, especially for the freebie download, and uploaded the downloadables into the Mailchimp content folder for easy download. Redesigning the website form made it easier to use it as a trigger for customer journey automation.

Content Development:

  • I designed and developed a thank you autoresponder email and welcome email template consistent with the brand’s design guidelines.

Result Generated

Improved Email Deliverability and Conversion rate by 20% in just a month

The redesigned sign-up form and integration led to an increase in customer acquisition by 14% in two months.

Hard bounces reduced significantly by 0.07%

Setting up tailored and personalized email campaigns in the customer journey automation led to more Mailchimp-attributed sales and revenue, and improved website activities, thereby leading to a better understanding of customer touchpoints, website pages visited, and products viewed.
